Africa Soccer EGYPT : LaLiga partners Al Ahly to support football through education

LaLiga have entered into a collaboration with Egyptian football powerhouse, Al Ahly SC, to launch a course within its MBA programme.

LaLiga have confirmed the development through its Southern Africa office based in South Africa.

The Spanish football league governing body will run the course—The MBA of LaLiga—through its educational department, LaLiga Business School. 

José Moya, Director of LaLiga Business School, said during the course, a case study will be conducted about Al Ahly, titled: “From regional leadership to international prestige: the journey of the African Club of the 20th Century with the biggest fan base.”

“Our partnership with Al Ahly SC will provide a fresh international mindset to the world of football as our aim within this program is to help professionalise the global sports industry and to capture the talent of today and tomorrow. The more internationally qualified and diverse people we have working in the industry, the better equipped football will be for growth,” Moya said. 

The MBA of LaLiga focuses on preparing people who want to lead change in the sports and entertainment industry.

It will draw from case studies from across LaLiga and its 42 clubs, sports and entertainment stakeholders.

Al Ahly are the Egyptian League, cup winners and the defending champions of the CAF Champions League.

Led by South African Pitso Mosimane, Al Ahly date Kaizer Chiefs in the final on July 17 2021.

Juan Fuentes, Delegate of LaLiga in Egypt, said the course will involve internships and international field trips to New York and Miami.

Students will also have a chance to attend practical sessions with managers for clubs such as Al Ahly, those from the Premier League, Serie A and the MLS.

The programme’s modules include Management in the sports industry, New marketing, Digital and technological disruption, Media and entertainment, Major sports events, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
