Egyptian Players abroad Egypt’s Defender Ahmed Hegazi Named Saudi League Player Of The Month

Egypt international Ahmed Hegazi has won the Saudi Professional League Player of the Month Award for the month of August.

Hegazi joined Ittihad a year ago in July of 2021. And he has been an integral part of the club since the moment he stepped into Saudi Arabia.

Nothing changed for the 29-yeard-old in the new second as he remains one of the league’s most dominant defenders. And the player has now added goalscoring to his arsenal.

Hegazi played Ittihad’s three opening games and while they lost the opener against Al-Feiha, he subsequently scored two goals in their wins against Al-Raed and Al-Faisaly. This earned him the Player of the Month award for August.

The award is chosen by a panel comprised of Khaled Al-Qaruni, Turki Al-Sultan, Sultan Al-Lihyani, Khaled Al-Shaneef and Youssef Al-Ghadeer, using data collected on Opta Sports.

Hegazi is currently with the Egyptian national team as they compete in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. He played the full 90 minutes as they beat Angola 1-0. And he is now preparing for their upcoming clash against Gabon.
