FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP FIFA U17 WWC: Flamingos To Face Germany In Third Place Game

At the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India, Nigeria’s Flamingos will play Germany in the third-place game.

Following a goal in the 90th minute, Spain, the current U-17 women’s champions, defeated Germany 1-0 in the second semi-final on Wednesday.

Remember that the first semi-final between the Flamingos and Colombia ended scoreless after 90 minutes? They lost 6-5 on penalties.

Similar to the match against the USA, Omamuzo Edafe had a chance to win it for the Flamingos, but her crucial penalty kick was saved, sending the shootout into sudden death.

Then, Comfort Folorunsho missed her penalty kick in sudden death, giving Colombia the victory.

This would be the second World Cup matchup between Germany and the Flamingos.

The Germans overcame a goal deficit to defeat the Flamingos in their first encounter during the group round, 2-1.

On Sunday, October 30, the third-place game and the Spain vs. Colombia championship game both take place.
