Top News Al Nassr Refutes Claim Ronaldo Will Act As Ambassador For 2030 World Cup

Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia has refuted claims that Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract has a provision requiring him to act as an ambassador for the Gulf nation’s quest to host the 2030 World Cup.

After negotiating a two-and-a-half-year deal with Al Nassr that the media has estimated to be worth more than 200 million euros ($210 million), Ronaldo relocated there last month.

According to media sources, Ronaldo, 37, would receive an additional 200 million euros to help Saudi Arabia’s World Cup campaign.

Al Nassr FC would like to clarify that contrary to news reports, Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr does not entail commitments to any World Cup bids,” the club said in a statement in the early hours of Wednesday.

His main focus is on Al Nassr and to work with his teammates to help the club achieve success.”

The application period for hosting the 2030 World Cup commenced last year, and the Fifa Congress in 2024 will determine the winner.

The World Cup will be shared for the first time by three separate nations in 2026 when it is held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
