Transfer window Firmino Joins Saudi Arabia Club Al-Ahli As Free Agent

After leaving Liverpool, Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino joined Al-Ahli on a free transfer, the Saudi Arabian team announced on Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who departed the Premier League after three seasons with Chelsea, will pair up with the 31-year-old.

After joining Liverpool in 2015, Firmino contributed to the club’s Champions League, FA Cup, and Premier League championships.

In the final match of the season, the Brazilian international bid Anfield a fond farewell by scoring the club’s 111th goal.

I always played for big teams, now I’m in Al-Ahli,” Firmino said in a video on Al-Ahli’s twitter account.

Firmino joins a lengthy number of well-known players who have recently relocated to the Saudi Pro League, following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo, who went to Al-Nassr in January.

They include Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Ruben Neves.
