Transfer window Aubameyang Joins Olympiqur de Marseille From Chelsea

Chelsea’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been signed by Olympique de Marseille, the Ligue 1 team announced on Friday.

Following a dismal tenure with the west London club, the British media reported that Chelsea had terminated Aubameyang’s contract, which had one year remaining.

Only five Premier League starts were made by the 34-year-old striker, who scored one against Crystal Palace in October.

He not only scored twice during the group round of the Champions League but was also left off of Chelsea’s roster for the postseason.

We would like to thank Pierre and wish him well as he begins the next chapter of his career,” Chelsea said in a short statement.

Ten years after his time at St Etienne, where he played for three seasons between 2010 and 2013, the French-born striker is back in his native country.

Before enjoying great stints with Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal, Aubameyang also played for Ligue 1 clubs Lille and AS Monaco in the early stages of his career.

With 30 goals in 73 games, he holds the record for Gabon and was voted African Footballer of the Year in 2015.

He confirmed his return to the Gabon team this year after retiring from international football in 2022.
