“I think we are ready to beat them, so I’m convinced that we are going to be audacious.
“That doesn’t mean that we’re going to win of course, but we are going to be brave.
“We’re going to try and play our football and, in that respect, I think we’re going to try and complicate their lives.
“From then on, we’ll see what happens.
“I’m sure there are statistics about Arsenal and City and Guardiola that were in favour of City, but they lost against Arsenal not too long ago (in the Community Shield).”
Against City, who are competing on this stage for the first time and have won all four of the clubs’ prior matches, Sevilla is attempting to prevent a sixth consecutive Super Cup loss.
Last season’s Champions League group stage saw Guardiola’s team win 4-0 in Spain and 3-1 in Manchester, but midfielder Nemanja Gudelj is not putting too much stock in the past performances.
“It’s a new season, new players, so it’s a new perspective, new analysis of the game,” the 31-year-old said.
“We expect a huge game in which I am convinced we are going to maximum and we face the game with plenty of confidence.”
