female 100m hurdles world record holder At the World Athletics Championship in Budapest, Hungary, Tobi Amusan of Nigeria has advanced to the women’s 100m hurdles final.
Amusan won Heat 2 on Wednesday in the semifinals with a timing of 12.56 seconds.
Ackera Nugent of Jamaica took the early lead, but Amusan overcame her to earn a spot in the World Athletics Championship final for the third time in a row.

In second place, Nugent—the current NCAA Champion—clocked a time of 12.60 seconds.
The first semifinal race was won by American Kendra Harrison, a previous world record holder, in 12.33 seconds.
Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico won Heat 3 in 12.41 seconds, beating Nia Ali by 0.02 seconds.
Amusan intends to defend her championship in the August 24 final.
