Transfers Monaco In Race To Sign Balogun From Arsenal On Permanent Deal

Folarin Balogun, a USA international is a subject of transfer speculation from Arsenal to AS Monaco according to reports.

The 22-year-old striker, who shined in Ligue 1 last season, has pushed for a long-term transfer away from the Emirates in order to improve on his remarkable performance as the team’s first-choice attacker.

A guaranteed sum of €45 million, minus bonuses, has been agreed upon between Monaco and the North London behemoths, according to GFFN.

He is about to sign a five-year contract after apparently coming to an agreement with the Adi Hutter side on personal terms.

Balogun, who ignited the French top division last season by scoring 22 goals for Reims, has been a target for Monaco.

Weeks of negotiations have been going on with the Gunners, and a rumoured opening offer was even turned down.

According to sources, he was also pursued by Lens, West Ham, and Inter Milan, but no club was able to reach an agreement with Arsenal.

Le Rocher appears to have found their man, with the important aspects all worked out, albeit there are still a few nuances to iron out.
