Kenya FIFA’s Sarah Solemale to attend Africa Football Business Summit

World governing body FIFA’s top official Sarah Solemale will be among the top honchos set to grace the second edition of the Africa Football Business Summit starting in Nairobi from September 14 to 15.

The Africa Football Business Summit is the premier gathering for anyone interested in the business side of football in Africa. With the continent’s football industry growing at an unprecedented rate, this summit serves as a vital platform for networking, learning, and strategizing for the future.

According to a statement obtained by People Sports, apart from Solemale, who is the Senior Governance Services Manager for Fifa based in France, other top officials expected to attend the two-day event include Kenya’s Principal Secretary (PS) for the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Heritage, John Ololuaa, Deputy High Commissioner for India Rohit Vadhwana, Extreme Sports Limited CEO Hussein Mohamed, FUFA President Hon Eng Moses Magogo, Managing Director, AMBI Group Luca Uguzzoni, and Rafael Ferraz Vazquez, Copyright Officer, WIPO based in Brazil.

The first edition in 2022 brought together over 120 delegates from more than 10 countries with 20-plus speakers, 15 insightful interviews, panel discussions and presentations, and one Workshop, a resounding success for our budding organisation.

The Nairobi edition will see Africa Football Business Summit merge with Tanzania Football Summit (TFS) to grow its global reach and impact with over 350 delegates drawn from across the globe expected to attend. Top African football personalities, such as Anthony Baffoe (Ghana), Khalilou Fadiga (Senegal), Doctor Khumalo (South Africa), and Ria Ledwaba (South Africa), have already confirmed participation.

Some of the key objectives for the summit include providing a platform for Africa’s football management community to discuss the game’s future in Africa, highlight critical issues for stakeholders to address, and set development benchmarks, bring together government, private sector, and academia stakeholders to understand the football ecosystem and explore synergies and collaborations to develop football across the continent and provide a platform for the football communities, primarily clubs and academies, to showcase their work, share knowledge and source for investment.

The Football Foundation for Africa is a social enterprise that seeks to drive investment in grassroots development in Africa, aiming to improve the quality of opportunities in football and through football on the continent.
