UEFA Champions League UCL:Galatasaray Compound Man United Misery At Old Trafford

Manchester United’s terrible season continued on Tuesday when they were defeated 3-2 at home by Galatasaray, dropping them to the bottom of Group A of the Champions League.

Rasmus Hojlund of Denmark gave United an early lead in the 17th minute as they sprinted out of the gates in the rainy Manchester. The goal was a response to their fourth Premier League loss of the season against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

However, their advantage was short-lived as Wilfried Zaha, who was facing his former team, scored the equaliser after shaky home defence.

After the break, Hojlund superbly took advantage of a mistake by Galatasaray defender Davinson Sanchez to put United back in the lead in the 67th minute. However, Kerem Akturkoglu levelled the score four minutes later, shocking Old Trafford into quiet.

Brazilian midfielder Casemiro was given a penalty after United custodian Andre Onana erred, and as a result, he was dismissed after collecting a second caution.

When Mauro Icardi missed his penalty kick, he absolved United of any responsibility. However, the Argentine bounced back and scored a beautiful winner with nine minutes remaining to give Galatasaray the lead in the group with four points and leave United without a point.

After a 2-1 victory at FC Copenhagen, who are in third place with one point, Bayern Munich is in first place with six points from two games.
