Premier League My Players Desire To Change The destiny of the team- Postecoglou

Ange Postecoglou said that Tottenham’s players desire to “change the destiny” of the team after the team’s hard-fought victory over Luton propelled them to the top of the Premier League.

After Spurs overcame Yves Bissouma’s red card to win all three points at Kenilworth Road, Micky van de Ven scored the game’s sole goal in the second half.

With eight victories and two draws, the unbeaten North Londoners are in first place on 20 points, overtaking Sunday’s opponents Manchester City and Arsenal.

The Australian coach, 58, said to TNT Sports after the close win: “I thought we started so brilliantly.

“We probably should have been three or four up but then you get the red card and it’s a different type of game.

“I just thought we handled it really well. They had a couple of opportunities, we had a few of our own and we’ve picked up three points at a difficult place.”

After a turbulent 2022–23 campaign, primarily under the direction of Antonio Conte and interim manager Ryan Mason, spirits are now high again at Spurs.

Postecoglou responded, “I don’t think it’s fair to look back,” when asked what had changed since his arrival.

“All I can do is work with what we have at the moment and, I keep saying, it’s a credit to the players. They’ve really bought into it.

“They’re really tight as a group. You see that in the manner of how we’re winning games. It’s not like it’s been easy in any of them.

“Apart from the football, which I think has been good, they’ve shown real resilience and character.

“They want to change the destiny of this football club and that’s what they’re trying to do.”

Spurs have earned their best Premier League point total after 10 games and their most overall since 1960 after to their victory in Bedfordshire.

However, Postecoglou, who is known for his understatement, said this in response to their amazing start: “It’s going alright, it’s going alright.

“But we’re only in October and we’ve still got a lot of work to do!”
