In a friendly game on Saturday at the Stade Felix-Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Morocco forced the 2023 AFCON hosts to a 1-1 draw.
In the third minute of the first-half extra time, Sebastien Haller, an attacker for Cote d’Ivoire, broke the deadlock.
Ayoub El Kaabi of Morocco scored a goal nine minutes from time to tie the score at one, just when it seemed the hosts would win by a solitary goal.

The encounter served as a chance for both teams to hone their tactics before the Africa Cup of Nations finals, which were held in January.
The friendly game had been scheduled for a long time; it was originally scheduled for last September 9 but had to be rescheduled due to the tragic earthquake that struck Morocco the night before the game.
