Nigeria Premier League NPFL Matchday 8:Remo Stars Record Highest Win As Pillars Beat Enyimba

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 8 action resumed on Sunday, with intriguing games and significant goal differentials in certain contests, as Remo Stars and Plateau United emerged victorious.

Remo Stars 4-0 thrashing against visiting Gombe United was the highest goal recorded on Matchday 8 which produced a total of 18 goals.

Bendel Insurance, Shooting Stars and Enugu Rangers were the only team thatpicked a point on the road.

Remo Stars defeated Gombe United 4-0 at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, returning to winning ways with a masterful team effort.

With just 25 minutes played, Sky Blue Stars attacker Sikiru Alimi scored to give them a 1-0 lead. Before Franck Mawuena’s tight finish in the 32nd minute doubled the lead to 2-0.

The third goal was scored by Okon Aniekeme in the 58th minute, and Alimi completed his brace in the 78th minute with a tight finish outside the edge of the box to make it 4-0.

At the New Jos Stadium in Jos, Plateau United defeated Abia Warriors 3-1 at home.

Within 15 minutes, the Mbwas Mangut team was up 3-0 thanks to goals from Chris Nwaeze, Barnabas Daniels, and an own goal by Abia Warriors right-back Jerry Ogu.

Malomo Taofeeq’s 44th goal gave the Gbenga Ogunbote team the lead. Both teams shared the point until Mohammed Alao tied the score at one in the 88th minute.

Tony Bolus had a huge victory in Katsina at the end as Katsina United defeated Rivers United 1-0 in a close game played at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium.
