Top News Pogba To Appear Before Italy Anti-Doping Tribunal Jan. 18

Following a positive testosterone test earlier this year, Paul Pogba will appear before Italy’s anti-doping tribunal on January 18, according to reports released by Italian media on Tuesday.

After the hearing at the NADO tribunal in Rome, the midfield player for Juventus and former Manchester United could be facing a lengthy suspension.

Requests for confirmation of the hearing date received no response from the tribunal or Pogba’s counsel.

Prosecutors against doping demanded this week that Pogba, 30, be barred for four years after being temporarily suspended in September.

If Pogba can show that he did not dope on purpose, his desired ban might be cut in half. On the other hand, if he can show that the banned drug was taken out of competition and had no effect on his performance, his suspension could be reduced to a few months.

Last month, his attorneys claimed that the testosterone originated from a dietary supplement that was recommended by a US doctor he saw.
