In the 63rd minute, Omuri turned the provider as he set up Wycliffe Mutua, to make it 3-0 but Sofapaka pulled a goal back before, Nehemiah ‘Neymar’ Onchiri, who had come on as a substitute, smashed home the fourth for Tore Bobe, to the excitement of their fans, who thronged Homabay Stadium for the fixture.

Shabana Patron Sam Nyamweya congratulated the team for the huge win and promised the players Ksh50,000 as a reward for their efforts coming off a few days after he had outlined key areas the club’s top hierarchy needs to address to help turn the team’s fortunes around.

“Congratulations Shabana for a resounding victory,” said Nyamweya in a signed statement seen by African Top Sports, adding: “I would like to congratulate Shabana players for posting outstanding results in the Kenya Premier League match against former champions Sofapaka. Despite a streak of poor shows losing and drawing matches, the 4-1 thumping of Sofapaka was a true testament that the pressure i had put on the team had paid dividends.

“I will offer the team a Christmas gift of Ksh50,000 for the good show. We continue as leadership to wish the team the best of luck as they take the Xmas break.”
