CAF CONFEDERATION CUP CAFCC: Nigeria Envoy In Tunisia Charges Rivers United To God For Win

Before Rivers United’s encounter against Club Africain of Tunisia on matchday four of the CAF Confederation Cup, players and officials were visited by Hakeem Oladepo Falusi, the Nigerian Head of Mission in Tunisia, on Wednesday at their hotel.

Accompanied by Olu Mustapha, Head of Chancery at the Nigerian Embassy in Tunis, Falusi paid a visit to the players and their representatives at Hotel Ez-Zahra Dar Tunis in order to acquaint and motivate the team prior to the crucial match against the Tunisian opponents scheduled to take place at the 60,000-seat Stade de Rades.

Dr. Okey Kpalukwu, the general manager of Rivers United, Ahmed Abdulraman, the secretary, Stanley Eguma, the technical manager, and Ali Cairo, the NFF representative, all greeted him.

His Excellency was greeted by the general manager, who also expressed gratitude for taking the time to see the squad and encourage the players to do well.

The Head of Mission emphasised that the Pride of Rivers are flying the national flag in Tunisia and urged them to defeat Club Africain in order to make the nation proud.

He said: “You also have the country behind you. The flag you are flying is also a Nigeria flag now.

” It’s not only your state that will be proud of you, Nigeria will also be proud of your victory.

“It’s just to come and identify with you and know how you are faring to ensure that you are okay and other logistics is addressed.

“We don’t want to have issues like that as a major concern.”

The players were pleased to meet representatives of the Embassy when they arrived at the airport, and team captain Nyima Nwagua responded by thanking the Head of Missions for the hospitality. He pledged to uphold the Nation’s trust.
