Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has given update on goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali injury after he was stretchered out following the 2-0 win over Cameroon at the AFCON 2023.

Nwabali was replaced by Francis Uzoho after Cameroon player collided with him in their Round of 16 game.

The Chippa United safe hand after treatment was unable to continue the game and was carried out of the pitch.

However, Peseiro has doused every worries over the player’s injury stating that the team will ascertain the level of the injury in the next 24 to 48 hours.

“We have to wait 24 or 48hrs to know what is wrong with him but I hope he will available for the next game“, he said in his post-match conference.

Hw was later seen celebrating with his teammates with bandage on his leg after the final whistle.

Nigeria Super Eagles continued their dominance over the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon with a 2-0 win in the round of 16 game to reach the quarter finals.

Goals from Ademola Lookman in both half was enough to see the Super through after a shaky start to the tournament.
