Throughout the current Africa Cup of Nations, or AFCON 2023, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has been chosen for arbitrary drug testing by CAF on multiple occasions.

Fans became suspicious of Osimhen after his remarkable performance against Cameroon in the round of 16, which led to the revelation of his drug tests.

During the tournament in Ivory Coast, the 25-year-old Nigerian has shown himself to be one of the team’s top performances, enabling the Super Eagles earn two consecutive AFCON quarterfinal tickets.

As Nigeria defeated the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon 2-0 to secure a date with Angola in the round of eight, Osimhen was in a celebratory mood. The Napoli player gave a masterclass, running nonstop for ninety minutes and earning an assist.

When the Super Eagles play Angola in the quarterfinals on Friday, Osimhen—who has only scored one goal and contributed one assist in four games thus far at the AFCON 2023—will be looking to duplicate his performance against Cameroon.
