CAF CONFEDERATION CUP CAFCC:All 8 Quarterfinalists Confirmed After Matchday 6

Match Day 6 of the competition’s group stages completed on Sunday night, March 3, officially deciding the eight clubs that will play in the 2023–24 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

USM Alger, the defending champions, are the first of eight teams to advance to the Tuesday, March 12 quarterfinal draw.

Four of the teams that are currently holding the title—USM Alger (2022–2023), Stade de Malien (2008–09), RS Berkane (2019–20, 2021/22), and Zamalek (2018–19)—are among the quarterfinalists for this season.

Following Sunday’s matches, the following teams will make up the final quarterfinals: Dreams FC of Ghana, Abu Salem of Libya, Rivers United of Nigeria, and Modern Future of Egypt, who will aim to emulate other Egyptian heavyweights that have left their mark on the continent.

Although there are four past champions in the quarterfinals, Rivers United, Dreams FC, Abu Salem, and Modern Future—all of whom have excelled in the competition—will be hoping to establish themselves on the continent.

The competition’s winners from the previous year, USM Alger, went on to win the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup in an exciting matchup versus Al Ahly, the record holders of the CAF Champions League.
