Uganda U20 women’s national team the Queens clinched bronze in the third place playoff game against Senegal played on Thursday at Cape Coast Stadium.

The game ended goalless in normal time but the Queen Cranes eventually edged it 6-5 on penalties. Shamira Nalugya, Shakirah Nankwanga, Harima Kanyago, Catherine Wujja, Shamusa Najjuma and Catherine Nagadya all converted their kicks with only Docus Lwalisa missing her take.

This was the first continental piece of silverware for Uganda’s Women Football.
