Africa Ghana Premier League : GFA Confirms Season To Start On 13 November

Ghana domestic championship has been inactive since March. After suspension, cancellation followed later due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 2019-20 season was nearing the halfway mark when it was halted in March. And the GFA then took the decision to scrap the season entirely in June. There had been no champion, promotion or relegation.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) to start on 13 November.

The GFA in a statement on their official website, has stated that the 2020-21 season is expected to run from the weekend of 13-16 November 2020 to 16-18 July 2021.

Ghanasoccernet reports that “all clubs must adhere to the COVID-19 protocols ahead of the start of the season”. While “all players and officials are to undertake the mandatory COVID-19 testing before the season commences”.

The highlight of the first round of fixtures on 13-16 November is Hearts of Oak facing Aduana Stars.
