Africa Soccer Salah edges closer to equalling Messi, Lewandowski record

Mohamed Salah is edging closer to equalling Lionel Messi and Roberto Lewandowski record after he helped scored and assisted as Liverpool to a 4-0 win against Wolves.
 
Salah was on the scoresheet and also provided an assist as the reigning Premier League champions extended their unbeaten run at Anfield to 31 games.
 
The Egyptian forward broke the deadlock in the 24th minute as he capitalised on a defensive blunder from Connor Coady.
 
He went on to provide the assist for Joel Matip who scored the third goal for Liverpool.
 

Salah now has 52 Premier League goals at Anfield as he hope to match Messi record of 63 goals at the Camp Nou and Lewandowski 59 goals at the Allianz Arena.
 
According to Opta, aince his return to the Premier League for the 2017-18 season Salah has scored or assisted 111 times in the competition (82 goals, 29 assists), at least 20 more times than any other player.
 
Also, Sunday’s goal and assist was the 17th time Salah has both scored and assisted a goal in the same Premier League game for Liverpool; since 2017-18.
 
Liverpool are currently second on the Premier League table, 24 points with Tottenham but the goal difference places Spurs ahead.
 
 
They are currently enjoying the second longest unbeaten home run in English top-flight history – 64 games. 
 
The Reds have won 53 of these (D11), scored 169 goals (2.6/game) and conceded 42 (0.7/game).
