Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola does not want to admit that his team is on the course to win the Premier League.

Manchester City defeated a stubborn Brentford 2-0 on Wednesday night toi go 12 points clear at top of the league table.

Algeria captain, Riyad Mahrez scored from the spot in the 40th minute after Raheem Sterling was fouled inside the box by Mads Roerslev.

Kevin De Bruyne doubled the lead for the hosts in the 69 minutes as the Cityzens recorded their 14th clean sheet in 24 league games.

Guardiola while speaking after the game rated Brentford as a difficult team to play.

“They are so difficult to attack,” said Guardiola.

“You have to be patient, make no mistakes and in the end we got the result.”

“Everyone is tough competition, but it is impressive at this stage to have 60 points,” added Guardiola.

“We have done incredibly well so far.

“Liverpool have two games to play then we see the gap.

There are 14 games to play, many points to play for and more tough games like today.”
