African players abroad Zambian winger Enock Mwepu ruled out of game against United

Zambian winger Enock Mwepu has been ruled out of Brighton and Hove Albion’s Premier League game against Manchester United at Old Trafford this Tuesday evening.

Brighton manager Graham Potter has confirmed the Mwepu was still working his way to full fitness after picking a thigh injury in an FA Cup game against West Brom last month.

“We will be as we were ahead of the Watford game,” Potter told the club’s website.

“Enock Mwepu isn’t far away from being available. Jeremy Sarmiento’s rehab is going well so he’s getting closer. Lewis Dunk has been fine, he has trained well and recovered well. He’s in a good place.”

Mwepu, is alongside striker Patson Daka for Leicester City and Rangers forward Fashion Sakala are among the new generation of stars for Zambia.

Another African at Brighton, Malian midfielder Yves Bissouma is also pushing for a return to the starting line-up after his Africa Cup of Nations exertions.

Brighton, who lie seventh on the standings seven points behind United, want to extend their unbeaten run to eight games.

United are on fifth place with 40 points and are fighting for a place in the Uefa Champions League.
