Following the votes, former Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan has revealed what Eto’o who was elected Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) in December, told him about the stakes.

“I was on the flight with him. He told me becoming President of the FA is not something you just wake up to”, Gyan said as per Ghanaian journalist Saddick Adams’ reports.

“He planned it for years. He said the mere fact that you’re legend won’t guarantee you the seat.”
