Women's AFCON Morocco To Host WAFCON For The Second Consecutive Time

CAF Executive Committee revealed during its meeting in Arusha on Tuesday that the Confederation of African Football, CAF had granted Morocco the right to host the Women Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON for a second consecutive time.

And according to reports, CAF named Morocco the automatic host of the 15th edition of the WAFCON in 2024 as no other nation showed interest in staging the event.

The North African country successfully staged the latest edition of the competition in July, where South Africa finished as the winner.

En route to picking up their first continental title, the Banyana Banyana defeated host Morocco 2-1 in the final.

The nine-time continental queens made it to the semifinal stage to book a ticket to next year’s FIFA World Cup.

But the Super Falcons only finished fourth after succumbing to Morocco and Zambia, ending the tourney without a medal for only the second time in WAFCON history.
