Anayo Iwuala was in action as Algerian side Belouizdad defeated Egyptian powerhouses Zamalek 1-0 in their opening match in Group D of the CAF Champions League.

Iwuala was in the starting lineup before being replaced in the 92nd minute.

Forward Leonel Wamba of Cameroon successfully converted a penalty in the 57th minute to give the visitors squad a great start.

Belouizdad, who last lost in October 2022, has already won three straight games away from home.

Belouizdad will compete in Group D alongside Al Merreikh of Sudan and Esperance, the parent club of Iwuala.

On February 18, Belouizdad will face Esperance at home in a difficult match.
