Africa Soccer CAF Considers Changing AFCON 2023 Qualifier Matchday 5and 6 Date

The Confederation of Africa Football CAF is considering changing the dates of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Matchdays 5 and 6.

Only seven countries, including the host Ivory Coast, have secured their place in the competition after Matchdays 3 and 4 of the qualifier. The remaining 17 spots must be filled.

According to an update from CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, the FIFA window for June will be dedicated entirely to friendly matches, and member associations are eager to participate.

Matchday 5 will be moved to September, while Matchday 6 will be held in October or November.

CAF is prepared to notify member associations of the new development before the official announcement.
