Kenya Nyamweya calls for Shabana FC support after FC Talanta draw

Shabana FC patron Sam Nyamweya has called on all and sundry to put their support on the promoted side after they secured a 0-0 draw against FC Talanta in an FKF Premier League fixture at Nyayo Stadium on Friday.

After a 0-0 result in the first half, the Kisii-based Glamour Boys found themselves trailing in stoppages when Kevington Machika put Talanta ahead, but they responded seconds later to snatch the equaliser courtesy of Justine Omwando. Shabana had kicked off their season with a 1-0 defeat against Murang’a Seal FC.

After the game, Nyamweya, who was among the fans supporting Tore Bobe, passed a word of felicitations to both the team players and officials without forgetting the charming cheering squad of all branches that travelled from far and wide thus from Gusii region, Nairobi County and its outskirts like Muranga’ Kiambu, Machakos, and Kajiado.

“I want to thank all those (fans), who attended the game and those who supported the team despite not making it to Nyayo, we need such support and it was good to see them push the players during the game,” said Nyamweya.

During the half-time break, Nyamweya took it upon himself and invited all elected leaders to VIP holding lobby room led by Borabu Constituency Mp Hon Patrick Osero, Kitutu Masaba constituency Hon Clive Gesairo a.k.a Engoko, Nominated Mp Hon Reen Mayaka, Hon Dan Manduku, alongside the Nairobi’s Chief officer health facilities Hon Geoffrey Mosiria, Shabana chairman Jared Nivaton, several civil servants present, numerous city politicians led by Hon Jared Mogaka and thanked them immensely for their good gesture.

Nyamweya, who was endorsed unanimously by those parliamentarians to continue providing quality leadership to the club, continued: “I invite every individual from all walks of life indiscriminately to join hands and rally behind the team without considering which political affiliations or persuasions you belong to.

“It’s time we help our boys and the team official propel us to another level.”

Shabana will next face Kenya Police at Homabay Stadium after the international break.
