Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga did not think twice while answering a question on his future at Real Madrid where he is playing on loan from Chelsea on a one-season basis.

The 29-year old joined Los Blancos this summer after Thibaut Courtois teared his ACL and sidelined for the remainder of the season even though there is hope that he can complete his comeback before the end.

So far, the 2021 UEFA Champions league winner has been doing well as he has 5 clean sheets in 10 appearances across all competitions so far and he does intend to return to Chelsea where he has a contract until June 2025.

“Staying at Real Madrid? Of course, yes, I still want that. But it’s not time to negotiate it now. The focus is on the games now”, Kepa said in a press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions league match against Braga on Tuesday.

“I can say my 3 months here have been positive. But the season is long and we will rate it at the end of the season.

“Differences between Real Madrid and other clubs is the greatness of the club [Real Madrid]. Every country we visit is evident every minute.

“I think playing here is a challenge and an incredible situation for any player. You surround yourself with the best players in the world and that makes working in the same direction easier to win games.”
