Nigeria FIFA WCQ: Super Eagles Land In Rwanda For Zimbabwe Game

The Super Eagles delegation to their match against Zimbabwe on Matchday 2 of Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualification arrived in Rwanda early on Saturday morning in Zimbabwe’s new home.

An aircraft that was chartered was used to transport the players and officials delegation to East Africa.

It left the Victor Attah International Airport at midnight on Friday and arrived in Kigali.

From there, they drove for two hours to Butare, the location of the match (Huye Stadium).

The 20,000-seat Huye Stadium features artificial turf, but the Eagles, under the direction of Jose Peseiro, have decided as a group not to worry about it as they aim for maximum points.

The game will begin 3 p.m. Rwandan time and 1 p.m. Nigerian time.

If the Super Eagles win on Sunday, they will have four points and one-fifth of the campaign remaining.

The referee will be Souleiman Ahmed Djama of Djibouti, who will be supported by his compatriots Mohamed Diraneh Guedi (fourth official), Liban Abdoulrazack Ahmed (assistant referee 1), and Rachid Waiss Bouraleh (assistant referee 2).

Raphael Lyson Humba from Malawi will serve as the match commissioner, and Yohannes Ghirmai Ghebregziabher from Eritrea will serve as the referee assessor.
