Manchester United Ten Hag Blames Injury For Man United Recent Poor Results

Manager Erik Ten Hag believes Manchester United can compete with the greatest clubs in the Premier League and that his team will return to form when important players return from injury.

United, six points out of the top four and currently ranked seventh, has lost its previous three games without scoring, first to Bayern Munich and then to Bournemouth before drawing goallessly at Liverpool.

Due to a series of injuries, Ten Hag is now without the services of Amad Diallo, Tyrell Malacia, Mason Mount, Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, and Victor Lindelof.

I think what has definitely hurt (us) was we had, in crucial positions, we had the problems,” Ten Hag told reporters on Friday. “You have to deal with that.

“But everyone understands when you have such key players who are not available, it will have a negative effect on results.

“Still, we are in a place where we can change this story, change this season.

“I am confident, when the players are back, we will have a good and strong squad.

“Liverpool were top of the league (last weekend), so we were competitive with them.

“This team, this squad, is strong when everyone is on board and we can beat anyone.”

On Saturday, United plays at West Ham United, and on Tuesday, they face Aston Villa, who are now in second position.
