There are indications that Super Eagles forward, Victor Boniface may miss the 2023 African Cup of Nations AFCON opening games due to injury.

Boniface missed Sunday unofficial friendly game against Abu Dhabi third tier club, Al Gharib and was also unavailable in Monday 2-0 loss to Guinea .

Boniface who has been instrumental to Bayer Leverkusen this season received his first international call.
