AFCON AFCON 2023 : Kudus to join Black Stars before they jet off to Côte d’Ivoire – Ghana FA confirms

Mohammed Kudus

Ghana Football Association confirmed in a statement that Mohammed Kudus will join the Black Stars before they left the country for Côte d’Ivoire as he is already in Accra.

The 23-year old has been a doubt these last days for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after picking up an injury during West Ham game against Arsenal three days after Christmas.

However, the former Ajax Amsterdam star will be fit for the AFCON as he is following a rehabilitation program in Accra and will travel to Côte d’Ivoire with Chris Hughton’s men.

“Mohammed Kudus has arrived in Accra and will join the squad before our departure for Abidjan on Wednesday, January 10, 2024”, GFA statement reads.

“The midfielder is recovering from a minor injury he picked up while playing for West Ham United against Arsenal in the Premier League on Thursday, December 28, 2023. The player is currently undergoing rehabilitation.

“The medical team of the Black Stars is monitoring his progress and is happy to have him join the squad for the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire.”
