Foot Europe Ligue 1: Dmitry Rybolovlev opens the way for a sale of AS Monaco

Ligue 1 Dmitry Rybolovlev opens the way for a sale of AS Monaco

Russian businessman and owner of AS Monaco, Dmitry Rybolovlev has reportedly mandated the Raine Group bank (which handled the sale of Manchester United) for the sale of AS Monaco, reports said.

When in December 2011, Dmitri Rybolovlev took possession of 66.67% of AS Monaco, the club was adrift and bottom of Ligue 2. The Russian billionaire will invest massively to turn around the club, notably bringing back tens of millions of euros worth of Radamel Falcao or even James Rodriguez.

The highlight: ASM’s crazy epic in the Champions League (with prestigious successes against Tottenham, Manchester City and Dortmund) and the title of French champion gleaned in 2016/2017 with Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Radamel Falcao, Fabinho and of course Kylian Mbappé.

If since then, Monaco has had a series of highs, it has also experienced some lows. Which did not prevent it from being active on the transfer market in terms of arrivals, but also and above all in terms of departures thanks to a high-performance training center, and to recruitment which allowed the club to reap solid capital gains

13 years after the takeover, Dmitri Rybolovlev, who has one of the biggest fortunes in the world, will sell the club.

However, fans of the club should not worry as the process is expected to take several months to complete.
