CAF Champions League CAFCC: Rivers United Arrives Brazzaville Ahead Of Diables Noirs Game

Rivers United will have the utmost support from the entire Nigerian community in Brazzaville as they compete for the CAF Confederation Cup against Diables Noirs, according to Deborah Samaila Iliya, the Nigerian ambassador to the Congo.

The guarantee was given by the Ambassador, who was represented by Mr. Boco Effiom, the Chargé d’affaires of the Nigerian Embassy, while receiving the delegation, which was led by Chief Dr. Okey Kpalukwu JP, the General Manager, upon their arrival at the Maya Maya International Airport on Friday.

In his welcome address, Kpalukwu assured the Ambassador that the squad will win while thanking him for the welcome.

Festus Austin, the team captain, addressed on behalf of the players and expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador, saying that being welcomed, particularly at the airport with Nigerian brothers, was a morale-booster that would inspire the squad to uphold the nation’s honor.

On February 12 at the Alphonse Massamba-Debat Stadium, Stade Marchand in Brazzaville, Rivers United will take on Diables Noirs.

The Group B match will begin at 5:00 PM Nigerian time.
