News Guardiola Refuses To Be Regarded As Greatest Coach Of All Time

Despite leading Manchester City to the treble last season, Pep Guardiola scoffed down claims that he was the greatest coach of all time on Saturday.

He claimed he still has “incredible doubts” about his abilities.

Following rival Manchester United, City became the only English team, under the Spaniard, to win the Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup all in the same year.

After arriving in Japan for City’s preseason tour, Guardiola said that he was “not a god” and denied being the greatest player to ever play the game.

“I live with incredible doubts in my head,” said Guardiola.

“If I had success in my career, I’ve said many times I was in Barcelona with the players that you know perfectly, I was in Bayern Munich, and we are here.”

We are building and doing something incredible I would not expect when we arrived,” he added.

Since 2012, City has won seven Premier League championships, five of which came in the last six seasons under Guardiola.

When they defeated Inter Milan 1-0 in Istanbul last month, they claimed their first Champions League championship.

With football, you cannot be sure of anything,” said Guardiola.

Now I’m not thinking about titles or these kinds of things,” he said ahead of City’s game against J-League champions Yokohama F-Marinos in Tokyo on Sunday.

“Step by step, tomorrow first game, we’ll see what happens at the end of the transfer window, which team we’ll have.”

On Wednesday in Tokyo, Manchester City will play Bayern.

The next stop on their journey is Seoul, where they will play Atletico Madrid.
