Top News Neymar Undergoes Surgery On His Anterior Cruciate Ligament

Neymar had a meniscus tear and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture in his left knee while playing for his country. He had surgery on Thursday.

Two weeks ago, during Brazil’s World Cup qualifying match against Uruguay, the 31-year-old was forced off the pitch before an MRI exam revealed the full extent of his injuries.

The Brazilian national team’s medical staff treated the Al-Hilal player in a Belo Horizonte hospital, and according to local media, he will be released on Saturday to start his recuperation, which is anticipated to take until mid-2024.

Neymar posted a photo on social media of him with his two children and the caption: “Everything will be fine.”

After reportedly spending 90 million euros ($96 million) to join the Saudi Pro League in August, Neymar, a former player for Barcelona and Paris St. Germain, only appeared in five matches due to muscular ailments.
