Nigeria’s U20 female team, the Falconets defeated Burundi 2-0 on aggregate to earn a spot in the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women World Cup in Colombia.

In Saturday’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup final qualifying run-out against their Burundian counterparts at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Esther Ajakaiye scored the game’s lone goal in the 78th minute.

Remember that forward, Janet Akekoromowei, scored the lone goal from the penalty spot in the first leg of the match.

The Falconets have qualified for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup finals, which will take place in Colombia from August 31 to September 22, this year.

At the World Cup in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2022, and 2024, the U-20 Nigerian girls have competed.
