OM wants to sideline Pape Gueye until the end of the season!

By refusing to extend with OM, Pape Gueye, who was asked to leave Marseille this winter, is taking a risk, that of being left out of the Marseille club’s plans for the second part of the season.

Attached, in appearance, to the Marseille club which supported him in particular during his long 4-month suspension, Pape Gueye will leave OM at the end of the season. At least, that’s what he plans for the rest of his career. Currently in Ivory Coast to participate in the African Cup of Nations with Senegal, the former Le Havre player quickly made himself indispensable in midfield, becoming an immovable starter in the eyes of Aliou Cissé.

Opening scorer against Gambia, Pape Gueye found form despite three ends in a match in December with Marseille. Well in his head, the 25-year-old midfielder does not seem particularly concerned about his sporting situation, he who is at the end of his contract next June with the 1993 European champion club.

Marseille, which initially wanted to keep Pape Gueye, will not go any further and has asked the player to pack his bags this winter, especially since a few English clubs (including Burnley) are interested.
