Last night, Ivory Coast created a surprise by eliminating the Senegalese title holder in the round of 16 of the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2023).
But at the end of the match, Krépin Diatta got angry with the referee.
The reason ? A foul by Odilon Kossounou on Ismaïla Sarr which could have given the Lions of Teranga a penalty.
“You are corrupt. You killed us, you are corrupt! Keep your African Cup. You go to see the VAR to give them a penalty, a guy (Ismaïla Sarr) who takes the ball 40 meters and rides, enters the area, and you don’t want to go watch the VAR? I’m sorry but this is overkill. I’m really sorry but there they killed our competition,” he declared in comments relayed by L’Equipe.
After his words following their elimination from the competition, the Senegalese winger could be subject to disciplinary measures by CAF.
