Without really suffering, Mali beats Burkina Faso and thus qualifies for the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2023).

It is no surprise that the Eagles of Mali beat the Stallions of Burkina Faso (2-1).

Mali dominated the entire match with 57 % of ball possession.

The goal conceded earlier by Burkina Faso on an own goal from E. Tapsoba (3rd minute), gave Mali the advantage and the second goal scored by Sinayoko (47th) strengthened their game.

Burkina managed to get back into the match after a goal scored in the 57th minute by B. Traoré, from the penalty spot.

Mali is once again qualified for the next round of the competition and will face Ivory Coast.
